February 17, 2012 (San Carlos) – Water color and collage artist Jean Waters will be the featured artist at the San Carlos Library from now through March 1.  A reception will be held Saturday, February 18 from 12-2 p.m.

“Her paintings will bring a genuine smile to your face,” said fellow artist Chuck McPherson in an e-mail to ECM.  “I mean really who doesn’t LOVE kittens!?!”  For details, visit

As a child, Waters was interested in the arts. However, she was guided into a teaching career, receiving a Master’s Degree in Librarianship. Then, eventually, she was able to pursue her love of art fulltime.

In 2002, Jean joined the San Diego Watercolor Society and Foothills Art Association, and began exhibiting her art, winning awards in both associations.  Most recently, her Rhythm and Blues, took a first place.   Her work has also been shown at St. Claire’s Gallery in El Cajon, at the 10th Avenue Theatre and Art Centre in San Diego, and at San Diego Hospice.
