POLICE SEEK TWO WOMEN SUSPECTED OF PASSING STOLEN CHECKS

February 9, 2009 (San Diego’s East County) — Authorities have released
photos of two women suspected of passing stolen checks in La Mesa that were
taken from a vehicle in La Mesa. 

On January 22, 2009, an unknown suspect broke into a vehicle at Grossmont
Center Mall and stole the victim’s wallet and checkbook, La Mesa Police report.   Later
that day a woman was caught on surveillance tape cashing one of the stolen
checks at the Wal-Mart in Santee. She is described as a white female adult,
20–30 years old, heavy set with long brown hair.

A second female suspect was also seen on surveillance tape with the first
suspect at the Ross Store in Santee passing one of the victim’s checks.  She
is described as a Hispanic female, 20-30 years old, with brown or black hair,
5 foot, 4 inches and approximately 140 pounds.
