LA MESA POLICE SEEK THREE SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING ON SPRING STREET

March 27, 2019 (La Mesa) – A man shot in the abdomen after an altercation near 4200 Spring Street at 10:30 last night has been unable to provide police with a statement due to medical treatment.  Police are seeking three men, all African Americans ages 18-20 in dark clothing, including the shooter, last seen fleeing in an orange or red late-model Dodge Charger.
La Mesa Police responded to reports of gunshots heard and were at the scene within two minutes.  Officers immediately found an 18-year-old Hispanic man lying in the roadway. He was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital and underwent surgery for injuries from two gunshots.  His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
 
Motive is unknown. The public is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400 if they have any information regarding this incident.
