FLOODING IN EAST COUNTY: AVOID THESE ROADWAYS

January 5, 2016 (San Diego’s East County) 6:15 p.m.– A flood watch has been upgraded to a flood warning, meaning flooding is occurring in our region. Here are updates on roadways reported flooded within the past hour in El Cajon, La Mesa, Crest,  and San Diego.  If you know of other hazards spots please post in our comments section.

Here are flodoed conditions reported in the last hour or so:

Lemon Crest Drive/Wintercrest Blvd. in El Cajon:  A foot of water was reported across lanes, causing vehicles to stall out.

State Route 52 in Santee: Lanes flooded between State Route 125 and Mast

I-8 West  at Lake Murray Blvd., La Mesa: At least a foot of water in lanes

I-15 south at Friars Road in San Diego flooded

State Route 94 west at 805: Mud across multiple lanes

State Route 94 west at Euclid: Offramp closed due to flooding

State Route 67 south at Broadway/Fletcher Parkway flooded

La Cresta Road at Coyote Ridge in Crest flooded

City of La Mesa urges avoiding these areas due to possible flooding:

70TH ST AND ALVARADO AVE
70TH ST AND UNIVERSITY AVE
BOULEVARD DR AND UNIVERSITY AVE
MASSACHUSETTS AVE AND UNIVERSITY AVE
ALVARADO RD AND GUAVA AV
ALVARADO RD AND COMANCHE DR
LAKE MURRAY BLVD AND EL PASO ST
JACKSON DR AND GROSSMONT CENTER DR
