July 22, 2023 (Santee) – Catalytic converter thefts off vehicles have been on the rise regionally. To help protect motorists from losses and increase the chances of being able to return stolen parts to their owners, the San Diego County Sheriff is hosting a free catalytic converter engraving event on Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. at 8891 Railroad Ave. in Santee.Reservations are required.

At the event, your driver’s license plate number will be engraved on your vehicle’s catalytic converter to assist with investigation and potential recovery.  All makes and models are welcome.

To register, call crime prevention specialist Jake Donnan at 619-538-0493.  Have your vehicle registration ready when making your reservation.
