TEEN STABBED MONDAY IN SPRING VALLEY NOT EXPECTED TO SURVIVE

Printer-friendly version   East County New Service May 26, 2016 (Spring Valley) – Detectives from the San Diego Sheriff’s homicide detail and the East County Gang Task Force are investigating the stabbing of 17-year-old Jeffrey Quirino. The teen is still being treated at a hospital, but his injuries are so severe that he is not expected to survive, says Lieutenant Kenneth Nelson. Deputies from the Rancho San Diego station responded to a reported fight on May 23rd at 4:31 p.m. in front of 8941 Delrose Avenue in Spring Valley. When the arrived they found the victim had been taken to a hospital by a passing motorist. Authorities seek help to identify suspect in the assault with a deadly weapon, which may be gang related. HEARTLAND FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE WOMAN FROM FIRE IN LEMON GROVE

Printer-friendly version   East County News Service May 26, 2016 (Lemon Grove) — Heartland Fire & Rescue crews in Lemon Grove responded to reports of a structure fire in the 8000 block of Alton Drive around 8:30 this morning. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the windows of a duplex unit and a woman halfway out of a window at the rear of the duplex.  Heartland Firefighters worked quickly to rescue the woman through the rear window while additional fire crews had the fire extinguished in approximately 15 minutes.  The fire was contained to a rear bedroom, but there was heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the unit.  Damage has been estimated at $50,000.  The woman rescued from the fire declined medical transport.  The exact cause of the fire is under investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Bomb & Arson Team.
