February 6, 2018 (Alpine) – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists about a series of accidents caused by 50-pound bricks that authorities believe were left intentionally on Interstate 8 in Alpine, NBC 7 news reports.

At least 11 vehicles have been damaged over the past month, including a multi-car collision.  Although property damage has been extensive, no injuries have been reported, though authorities fear that could change if the malicious actions continue.

Anyone who witnesses someone putting bricks in the roadway, or who has information on these crimes, is asked to contact lthe CHP.
