February 28, 2010 (Anza Borrego) – record rainfall in January and February is expected to produce a banner season for wildflowers in Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Blooms are expected to peak through mid-March, so plan your trip east to the desert on any clear day over the next couple of weeks.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park has a wildflower hotline for Anza Borrego, (760) 767-4684. Updates will begin when the flowers start to bloom. Start our visit with a stop by the visitors’ center. For hours and information on current areas in bloom, see http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638

You can also find a map of flowering locations at http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/638/files/Flower%20Update%20and%20Map%20February%2025%202010.pdf
