Editor’s note:  We are grateful to Viejas for their generous support of our wildfire alert service, which helps us keep you safe and informed through our monitors during emergencies.  Our “Beer Bash Benefit” aims to raise funds for us to supplement info received from emergency authorities by also providing  live reporting at the scene when wildfires and other emergencies occur.  East County Magazine was the ONLY media in the county to send a reporter to the scene of recent major firestorms even in the middle of the night, providing live coverage.  We also cover earthquakes, flash floods, police/SWAT actions, school lockdowns, freeway closures and other emergencies, plus breaking news/events across East County.
