July 11, 2012 (San Diego) – Ali Ahmed, a local college student whose name ended up on the no-fly list returned home to San Diego on Monday, according to news partner 10 News[1]. He arrived at Lindbergh Field after a 20-hour ordeal which included a missed flight and lost luggage.
Ahmed, a U.S. citizen, was returning from a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia when he was barred from his flight in Bahrain. He was aided by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in his efforts to return home.
